I’ve done several moves around the world and I have to commend Alpaca Moving and Storage for their excellent work and professionalism. The crew size was actually reflective of the size of my shipment (other moves in the past sent minimal crew) and they were very respectful of the property. They had a system in place that made things move quickly and efficiently. The items that were disassembled at the point of origin were reassembled and reassembled well. If I have to move ever again they will be my first call.

We just wrapped up our best military move in 26 years and APACA was one of the heroes of the effort. Our 15,000lbs of household goods were packed up in Oklahoma City expecting a direct delivery move into a base home but our home was switched while we were on the road and APACA came through as the temporary storage for the five weeks we had to wait until we could move in.We move every two to three years in the military so we know the benefit of a direct delivery move that avoids several more sets of hands associated with loading and unloading to storage and finally on to your home. We were nervous having to add a storage stop to the move but APACA was fantastic from the start helping me collect motorcycles from the shipment that we’d need for transportation during the unexpected five week wait for a home.They kept in touch over the weeks verifying schedules and on delivery day they arrived as scheduled despite how unpredictable the Air Force gate security process can be. The entire team was professional and careful with our household goods and the home. For the first time in 26 years we had zero broken dishes, glass, or picture frames. Plenty of furniture padding was used resulting in only one noticeable chip on a large heavy dresser which is truly fantastic. We’re realistic and experienced regarding what typically happens on moves with awkward heavy furniture and we were pleasantly surprised at how carefully everything was handled. Our bicycles suffered some scuffs, a few things needed some wiping down to return them to pre-move condition, and a couple extremely fragile aircraft and boat models will need some minor straightforward repairs, but nothing unexpected or unreasonable. Everything that was important to us made it in fantastic shape.Moving is hard and filled with opportunities to break valuable and important things but APACA impressed me so much that when it came time to set up ‘non-temporary storage’ for the furniture that wouldn’t fit in the base home we prioritized them #1 on our wish list to come back. I can wholeheartedly recommend the APACA teams, planning representatives, and leadership that we worked with on this move (Aug 2023) and I will put them #1 on our list when it’s time to leave Albuquerque.Thanks APACA!Chris & Tammy

So my employer gave me three moving companies they would pay for as part of relocation. I looked up all three, Apaca had the lowest google review so I ignored them. I tried one company - they would say I'll call you right back and I wouldn't hear from them in a week. The second couldn't remember any details of my move from one conversation to the next. Finally, we decided to call Apaca since we were getting nowhere and nothing scheduled with the other companies. Glad we did. Apaca did a fantastic job. At the point in the process we called them, we needed to move fast. They were able to get us scheduled, move an entire house with a hot tub and sauna and a piano heavier then the hot tub. They were professional, extremely courteous. They made a very stressful move go very easily. The movers were absolutely fantastic - very grateful to have had them move us. Yes, we offer both virtual and in-home estimates for your convenience. Our estimates are typically non-binding. According to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, “A non-binding estimate helps you determine the cost of your move, but it is not a guarantee of your final costs. “We ask about things like third-floor apartments or long driveway access during the estimate,” says Chris DiJulio. “This helps us bring the right equipment—and gives you an accurate price the first time.“

We take every precaution to protect your home and belongings. Our movers use moving blankets, plastic wrap, and furniture pads to shield your items. We also use floor runners, install door protectors, and pad door frames, railings, and sharp corners when needed to prevent scuffs or scratches in both your old and new homes.

“Our crews are trained to prep the home before moving anything heavy,” says Michael Olmi. “We always start by covering flooring and protecting doorways, sharp corners, and railings with foam padding, especially in homes with hardwood, tile, or tight corners.“

Yes, we do our best to schedule moves according to your preferred timeline, especially if you’re coordinating with lease agreements, closings, or elevators. The sooner you book, the better we can guarantee availability on your desired date.

“We often handle moves with very specific access windows,” explains Chris DiJulio. “For example, some buildings in Albuquerque only allow moves between certain times, depending on the building rules, so we schedule accordingly.“

While we handle your belongings with care, we also offer valuation coverage options to provide added peace of mind in the event of loss or damage. At APACA Moving & Storage, you can choose from the following protection plans:

Limited Liability Coverage – This is included at no extra cost and provides basic protection based on weight, not value. “Under this option, the mover is responsible for no more than 60 cents per pound per article. For example, if your mover lost or damaged a 50 inch TV weighing 25 pounds, you would only receive $15 (60 cents x 25 pounds),” states the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

Full Value Protection – Available for an additional cost, this plan offers more comprehensive coverage. If any item is lost or damaged, we are responsible for repairing it, replacing it, or reimbursing you for its current market value.

Items of Extraordinary Value Declaration – This optional coverage is designed for high-value items (those worth more than $100 per pound). These items must be specifically declared before the move. If properly listed and covered, we are responsible for the full market value in case there is damage or loss.
